PFI Incorporated is Funding Two School Programs

PFI Incorporated - Friday, May 06, 2016

Since March of this year, PFI Incorporated has been working with Fair Housing of Marin to completely fund  as a proud sponsor for multiple years two school programs.

Storyteller Program: The Colors of Diversity

The first school program is "Storyteller Program: The Colors of Diversity."  This program presents entertaining stories about human rights and equality and will promote diversity and respect.  The stories are tailored especially for children in grades Kindergarden to 8th grade and the program is FREE to of charge, perfect for performances in the school classrooms or assembly halls.

The stories are performed by master storytellers Claudia Cuentas and Kirk Waller.  Claudia has worked for several years a s a professional storyteller in the Bay Area and Lima Peru.  She is creative and excited to bring her performances to both English and Spanish speaking children.

Kirk Waller has been surrounded in the performing arts for over 20 years and has received several national awards for his works. Currently he is the Director of Storytelling at Stagebridge. Children love Kirk's stories and learn meaningful lessons from them about equality and diversity.

Fair Housing of Marin Annual Poster Contest

The second program PFI Incorporated will be funding for multiple years is the Fair Housing of Marin Annual Poster Contest.

This year's Poster Contest theme is "Fair Housing Opens Doors." All children in Marin grades K-8 are invited to enter these annual poster contests.  Winners receive prices and are recognized in an awards ceremony with Marin County elected officials and community leaders. With this contest, Professional Financial Investors (PFI Incorporated) is celebrating with Fair Housing of Marin and our community the beautiful diversity that each color, language and culture brings to Marin County schools and neighborhoods. PFI wants to help build a community free of prejudice or rejection because of race, color, language, ethnic background, family status or disability. On April 28th, PFI Incorporated served as one of three poster contest judges, along with Belinda Ingraham, Board Member of Marin City Community Service District, and Cesar Lagleva, Ethnic Services and Training Manager for County of Marin. In addition to serving as a judge, PFI Incorporated also had the privilege of presenting the 2016 Contest awards to the winners along with other members of the Marin Board of Supervisors and local dignitaries. PFI Inc. looks forward to helping our community thrive by celebrating diversity by proudly sponsoring the poster contest for years to come and by standing by our values as an equal opportunity housing provider.
